Poem – Knowing His Voice

Description: It’s often underrated how hard it can be to hear God’s voice in the midst of trial and hardship. This was my attempt to hear Him in a time of uncertainty and unrelenting physical and mental trials. “…His sheep follow Him because they know His voice.” ~ John 10: 4 ~ I hear youContinue reading “Poem – Knowing His Voice”

Rest for the Weary

It’s been a long hard road Every day fraught with trouble. I’ve been fight or flight It’s been so long, It could be my whole life. Always fighting fear and pain. Troubled thoughts Trying to drag me into the grave. No room for self No room for love No room for others amongst these thoughts.Continue reading “Rest for the Weary”

Poem – Believing in the Shadow

This was a prose poem I wrote a few years ago after a long summer waiting in Yellowstone National Park. I was often alone and wondering where the next glimpse of hope would come from. I feel much the same way today and I hope you will enjoy! Did You know? When you created me…Continue reading “Poem – Believing in the Shadow”

Taking Your Breath Away

Stunned. Taken Back. Where there is pain, Washed Away. Where there is sorrow, tears tenderly wiped away. Unfathomable Your Love. Mystery in Your Grace. Hope in Your visible Glory. Faith in our own unknowable future.

Through the Looking Glass

What do you see? It’s not very clear It appears to be clear waters But maybe also a raging sea! The future remains unknown Our perspective but a dimly lit mirror Through the blurred looking glass I see On faith, yes faith I stand.

A Clear Conscience

I can’t quite believe Be it luck or be it fortune No matter how it begins It always ends the same. Ethics wins out over any profit There is no gain in a corrupted conscience Pure art is healing for the soul As anointing with oil for a cause.

Could You Believe?

Knocked Out Barely Standing Wheezing for the next breath Blacked Out. I wake up to a beautiful voice She says “Don’t be afraid, I care for you.” The trauma still hurts but the bleeding stops. I wake up again Another voice says “Your pain is real, I see your wound.” I have the strength toContinue reading “Could You Believe?”

Whisp in the Wind

Delicately Floating Expression of Beauty and Grace Longing to be Heard Vying to be Seen. I ask to please not crush me All I want is to grow All I want is to be a blessing Let me thrive that I may truly live.

An Authentic Moment in History

Can I be real for just a moment? The depression I’m experiencing is very real today. I cannot seem to work, experience anything emotional other than pain, or even rest in my misery. It seems that my only outlet is anger and frustration. My increasing concerns about COVID-19 are mounting with those around me seemingContinue reading “An Authentic Moment in History”

Triumph in Pain

Bled out on the floor before you. Life has taken it all away from me. Lacerations scar my body, my soul. Whipped and beaten, Barely keeping my head from the floor. Cold winter blasts Chills down to the bones Curled up like a child I cry out to you. Emotional Scars Crack through my chestContinue reading “Triumph in Pain”
