Poem – Everything’s Alright

Background: I wrote this poem in a time of dire need working in a tire shop. I was being verbally abused on a daily basis by a narcissistic manager who was then replaced by another verbally abusive manager. This is an ode to my pain and hardship and God providing in spite of it all.

Knees tight and cramping
Back stiff neck twisting
Stress, so much stress
All on my shoulders
I carry it; it breaks me.

How much longer…I bend
Body weak, nothing will mend
Heart stirring, head turning
Heart murmur, will I fall over?
I cannot bear it.

My God, My Father
I’ve broke, no more can I mope
I’m nothing, Who am I?
Dead man waiting on a miracle
Where is my living hope?

I will wait
I will plead
I have no other need
Except You exceedingly
Except Your presence
Love me, please.
