Poetry – Surviving the Pain

 Did you think it a walk in the park?
 Did you think there were only mountaintops?
 My son, the work is in the valley.
 My child, the beauty is in the pain.

 You will make it to tomorrow.
 You will survive;
 Even more, you will thrive.
 Dark valley, long road; sunrise, even brighter.

 Glow even deep down below;
 Heart embers emboldened to know.
 Under pressure shine brighter;
 Death nearer, forever Lighter.

 Cross born, flesh torn;
 Spirit, water, life, and fire!
 Praise, all praise to you my Father;
 Abba, Abba, there is none higher.
 My God, my God, Jehovah-Jireh!
