From the many years I have studied scripture, Jesus seemed to care very little about his political influence, and more on how he could impact each person individually. From the woman at the well, to the blind man receiving sight, he never failed to take into account what each person needed and met them where they were at. So, as a believer, we are all maybe asking the wrong questions: mask or no mask? lockdown or no lockdown? public health or economy? Maybe the real question is do we trust that God is sovereign over all of these endless issues and will we instead focus our attention on how to best love our neighbor? I agree that maybe there is no answer to all the scientific and political questions, but as believers we can rise above this fear and indecision knowing that our sole duty is to love God and love our neighbor and take every action we can to exhibit this love in our countries and in the world. Blessings and love to you all. I pray we will rise up and do the good work we know we are called to do no matter our circumstances. COVID-19, death, or any other power will never steal the love that Yeshua has so gracious poured out on us all. It’s time to rise up and believe that God is still in control, let down our guard, and do whatever is in our power to love, love, and love all the more.
